The Norman’s Cove-Long Cove Volunteer Fire Department was established way back in 1971. Since then our Department has grown to become one of the most successful and well managed in the Region 2 district.
Today we provide fire protection and other services to roughly 1,200 citizens in the Town of Norman’s Cove-Long Cove and the adjacent Town of Chapel Arm, and have mutual aid agreements with other towns in the vicinity as well.
The department is under the command of Fire Chief Gary Rideout, Deputy Chief Corey Hudson, and Captains Colin Newhook and Stanley Reid. We currently have 20 active members.
